A small but passionate crowd gathered outside the Greek Club in West End last Friday to protest against Federal Opposition leader Tony Abbott, who was in Brisbane to speak at an LNP fundraiser.

Community groups such as Equal Love Brisbane, the Refugee Action Collective, the Community Private Sector Union and Aboriginal activists led the protest with speeches and chants.

Police shielded guests attending the fundraiser from booing protestors.

Several scuffles broke out between some of the protestors and police, although no-one was seriously injured.

Although protestors hoped to confront Tony Abbott himself at the entrance of the building, it seems that the Opposition leader entered the Greek Club somewhere away from the protest.
